$10K TERF Bonus for TRF

The Thoroughbred Research and Education Foundation (TERF) has awarded $10,000 to the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation (TRF) for educational use.
In 2021, the TERF foundation provided for the recognition of vocational instructors in the Groom Elite Program. In line with its mission to support and promote equine education by assisting organizations that are educating the public on how to properly care for horses, TERF will provide financial assistance to them in 2022. TRF will use use funds to purchase equipment and instructional materials to enhance the learning experience as incarcerated individuals transition to the Groom’s Excellence Curriculum offered at TRF Second Chance Programs . TRF’s goal is to provide a standardized level of education in every
facilities, educate inmates on proper care for purebreds, and create more skilled individuals who can receive income-generating employment upon release from prison.
TRF CEO Pat Stickney commented: “TRF staff and board are extremely grateful to the Thoroughbred Research and Education Foundation for their continued support of our Second Chance Program. This grant allows us to enhance the learning experience of the men, women and youth participating in this transformational program. With support from TERF, we are able to further expand our Second Chance Programs so we can continue to change lives while saving more horses.”
