’60’ tends to mean something pretty strong in BMW parlance, and the company is set to unveil an xDrive60 variant of its new all-electric flagship sedan.
The 2023 BMW i7Electrical variation of the redesign 7 Lines range, will be revealed at the Beijing 2022 China auto show in April.
Thanks to the BMW USA website, we now know that one of the i7 variants will be called xDrive60.
It’s unclear if this is a flagship i7 or not. Electricity iX For reference, the SUV tops out with an M60 variant, while the upcoming 7 Series flagship is the V12-powered M760Li.
According to the website, BMW says the i7 xDrive60 has an estimated maximum range of about 324 miles (521 km) according to preliminary US EPA testing.
The Bavarian car manufacturer has previously said i7 will have an official driving range of up to 610 km (WLTP) or 490 km (US EPA) in its most efficient guise.
All i7 all-electric sedans will be available with a dual-motor all-wheel drive system.
BMW has yet to confirm powertrain outputs for the i7. The IX M60 puts out 455kW and 1100Nm of torque in peak drive mode, while even the single-step xDrive50 has 385kW and 765Nm.
For reference, the twin-turbo V12 in the upcoming flagship M760Li produces 448kW and 850Nm.
Unfortunately, there are no new images of the i7 at this stage but we have already seen some of the first teaser images.
They introduced the all-electric sedan’s oversized double kidney grille with frame lighting and split headlamp setup with “proprietary crystal glass upper light elements”.
Inside the i7 are many high-tech items, including a curved screen similar to iX The all-electric SUV features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen.
At the back there’s a 31.0-inch “theater” screen with 8K resolution going down from the title and having an ultra-wide aspect ratio of 32:9.
The i7 also has a panoramic glass roof, light strips and functions on the dashboard and doors.

Like i4 and 4 Series Gran CoupeThe i7 and 7 Series will share the same body, but with unique design elements mainly on the front and back.
At the end of 2021, BMW released a set of Official “spy photo” of the i7, showing a sedan with a traditional three-box silhouette undergoing winter testing in Sweden.
BMW also confirmed Next-gen 7 Series will be available with SAE Level 3 autonomous driving.
“Level 3 that you will see from us in the 7 Series next year,” BMW development chief Frank Weber said in an interview with Forbes Wheel in November 2021.
“It’s a function you can buy. It will be ready to launch the 7 Series. ”
According to Weber, this SAE Level 3 autonomous driving system is being developed with Intel subsidiary Mobileye.
It is also set to finally be available in the future BMW 5 Series, X5 and X7 as well as the all-electric iX as an optional upgrade from its current SAE Level 2 system.
