2023 Lexus UX300e EV gets increased range
Update Lexus UX300e electric cars will arrive in Australia in 2023, headlined by a much larger battery pack offering significantly extended driving range.
The MY23 model has a 72.8kWh battery, up from the old 54.4kWh pack, extending the driving range from 315km to 450km as confirmed in WLTP testing.
The electric motor remains the same as before, producing 150kW of power and 300Nm of torque.
The battery isn’t the UX300e’s only update, with other changes relevant to the UX hybrid and petrol upgraded family. details in Augustand on sale right now.
Improvements include a new 12.3-inch touchscreen in place of the old 10.3-inch non-touch setup, the addition of a USB-C port, and a new infotainment operating system.
The designers also reconfigured the shape and switch layout of the panel and panel area, and increased the area of the wireless smartphone charging dock.
The new operating system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto, and has a data communication module available with an internet connection. The combination of cloud-based and natural satellite positioning means that the system can receive traffic and parking information in real time.
The new natural speech recognition means users can say “Hey Lexus” to handle functions like opening and closing windows or changing songs.
DCM also supports Lexus Connected Services, enabling over-the-air updates. Services include automatic notification in the event of a collision or theft, app-based unlocking and starting of the vehicle, remote climate control, and battery health checks.

The Sports Luxury class also gets an enhanced 360-degree camera with a new underfloor view.
As with MY23 Lexus UX200 and UX250h, the UX300e has a reinforced chassis with engineers adding 20 spot welds all over the body for greater torsional stiffness. The electronic power steering system, shock absorbers and brakes have also been modified.
Pricing and full specs will be announced closer to the on-sale date, only listed as 2023 at this stage.
