3 soldiers killed in action in Darhal, Rajouri army camp attack, 2 terrorists shot dead

Three soldiers were killed and two wounded in a pre-dawn attack on an army camp in Kashmir’s Jammu and Rajouri. Two terrorists, who were found trying to widen the fence to enter the army camp, were shot dead.

“Several terrorists tried to break through the barracks of the army barracks in Pargal. The guards challenged them and a shootout took place,” added Police Superintendent Mukesh Singh. .

Mr. Singh added that forces had been sent to the army camp to ensure the security of the area.

Rajouri district and other parts of the Jammu region have been largely free of terrorism, but over the past six months there has been a string of terrorist attacks.

Police said the terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba, or LeT, was behind today’s attack.

The attack also came just a day after police averted a major tragedy by recovering a 25-kilogram homemade explosive device in the Pulwama district of the Union Territory.

This is the first major terrorist attack against an army facility in Jammu and Kashmir since February 2018, when terrorists attacked the Sunjwan camp in the Jammu region.

In a similar terrorist attack in 2016, 18 soldiers were killed while participating in the operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri.

Police recently busted a large LeT module in Jammu and Kashmir with the arrest of Talib Hussain Shah, the BJP’s minority morcha social media officer in the Jammu region. The BJP ultimately turned him down, due to a bug in the online membership system that allowed people to join the party without a background check.

According to police, Talib Hussain Shah was involved in a series of attacks in the area. A large amount of weapons were recovered from him.

“We are sorry to hear of the deaths in the line of duty of three soldiers following a militia attack in Rajouri. While condemning the attack, I offer my condolences to the families and prayers. for the speedy recovery of the officers and ranks injured in the attack,” tweeted former Jammu and Kashmir Minister Omar Abdullah.
