Netizens are no stranger to the famous Korean series ‘Squid Game’. The program is based on a contest in which competitors compete against it in a series of childhood games to win bumper cash prizes; while the losers are eliminated by being killed. Based on this popular series, a Beijing bakery introduced a new challenge for customers to make ‘dalgona candy’ (from ‘Squid Game’). The food contest costs 58 yuan or 9 US dollars. Based on trends on Instagram Reels, several TV and Bollywood divas have entered the ‘Oops I Did It Again’ challenge where they spread their culinary know-how to the world. 3. #DontRush Challenge:
Another food challenge based on Instagram Reels is ‘#DontRush Challenge’. It is named after the popular song ‘Don’t Rush’. The challenge begins with people going through multiple looks or outfit changes in one compilation video. This then turned into a dining challenge where several celebs joined in with their favorite dishes and gave the game a whole new perspective. Our favorite of the lot is the challenge performed by actor Tamannaah. Her challenge is not to get out of bed and enjoy the mango with all her heart. The third most popular challenge on Instagram is ‘Post a photo’. This challenge gave us the opportunity to see the culinary side of several celebrities, including Sonam Kapoor Ahuja. When a fan asked Sonam to post a picture of her lunch, she happily accepted by posting a photo of the meal she had for the day – a bowl of veggies like spinach, potatoes, carrots and chana dal. 5. Fastest eating challenge:
Last but not least, the fastest eating challenge has taken social media by storm throughout the year. From people eating hotdogs, sandwiches in very short time to breaking world records, we have seen the winners of several competitions year round.
