The second time we saw the first howler chirping and daffodils through the ground, we were heading out for cocktails on the back deck and reading on the porch swing. Never mind the fact that we can wear sweatshirts and Ugg boots because it’s practically freezing. But my god! It will help you after a long cold Indiana winter! Including having us shop for all the outdoor patio items we could find and dream of our perfect setup. I’m super excited to have a pool back soon – with my home under construction in Florida, I’ll have the chance to lounge in the sun with a cold cocktail in hand. [or better yet, floating in the water], and I can’t wait! With that project in progress, I searched the Internet for what I wanted around the pool [who knew so many loungers existed?] and luck has begun to put some things together! First, in the loungers in the water pool for the sun terrace – how interesting it would be this umbrella in between the two? As for around the pool, I like the look of these benches with rope detailing to give it a light maritime vibe! Throw in some interesting pillows and space near completion!

This year, I was on a mission to make my previous entry as cozy as possible! Step One – Add One porch swing and topped with pillow AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! I have fond memories of watching the after-work traffic pass my grandparents’ porch as a child, and the thought of relaxing on the porch with the kids makes me so happy. Dreaming of the day our outdoor dining area looks like this! I love mixing metals, materials, and colors to create a more modern, clean, yet timeless boho feel! It’s officially that time of year again – it’s time to turn yourself into a little outdoor oasis! I love having multiple seating areas with coordinated looks, so whether we’re hosting a group or just having a quick “kids sleeping in the backyard beds,” we there’s a great space for that! Outdoor space is my happy place ☀️ If the sun shines, I want to be in the great outdoors! We moved into our first house late last summer and I love being able to hang out and barbecue in the evenings. I look forward to A LOT of that as the weather warms up! I want to make things simple and cozy around our house…even outdoors. I can totally see myself working for this love chair next to this cute little chiminea and slept a long time. Or sip a cocktail on Benches with my feet warmed up on this one the otter next to my husband. (Hurry summer!!) More of these fun pillow And I’m out! We have similar lights this in our backyard right now and I turn them on whenever I get a chance in the summer. I also like to have a few planters filled with beautiful flowers and of course citronella to ward off those pesky mosquitoes.

As a renter, my patio options are somewhat limited. If you know, you know! Regardless, I firmly believe that you can still create a small space that is both interesting and functional. It’s been a blast combining my “dream porch” and I’m even making my porch dream come true [kinda ;)] with a few smaller accessories to spice up my space. Brand new spankin’ pillowcase go a long way [pro tip: covers are SO much cheaper than buying new pillows every year!]. And while plants usually don’t last long on my watch, I can’t stop, won’t stop buying the best ones planters. It’s patio sitting season!
