Nick Cannon thanks supporters for ‘overwhelming love’ following infant son’s death
On Wednesday’s episode of “Nick Cannon Show,” the talk show host and cast shared how he’s been managing his grief following the death of his youngest child over the weekend. .
“People keep asking me how I’m doing. I say, ‘I’m upright, I’m standing and you know it’s a good start,'” Cannon said.
“Yesterday it was a little easier than today because yesterday I was so focused on the laser and even numb,” Cannon said of announcing his son’s death. “I’m a bit torn today. I’m a bit confused. Because it’s a hurtful thing.”
The 5-month-old baby with hydrocephalus is Cannon’s baby with model Alyssa Scott.
Cannon expressed gratitude for the support his family has received.
“It was just a really unexpected outpouring of love. I didn’t expect it from all over the world. I really can’t thank you enough,” Cannon said. “I say thanks from Alyssa, Zen’s mother, and the rest of our family… She made it, you know, every five minutes.
“[I’m sending] loves Alyssa, loves her extended family, loves every single mother who has ever lost a child dealing with a child with special needs,” added Cannon. Mothers are super in every way, and I want to just take this time to say she is doing well but continue to pray for her, continue to pray for our entire family. And we will get through it. “
