Gatherings in May 2020 — when people in the UK are banned from seeing more than one other person outside — are was only revealed this week when ITV News received an invitation to 100 people urging them to get out into the sunny garden and “bring your own wine!”
After two days of public outrage, Johnson was forced to apologize during the weekly session of Prime Minister’s Questions on Wednesday – but also stated that he thought the frenetic gathering was a working meeting.
The leader of the opposition Labor Party, Sir Keir Starmer, was not pleased with Johnson’s apology and called for the prime minister to resign immediately.
Starmer said: “Here it is… Pathetic sight of a man running off the road. “His excuse, that he didn’t realize he was attending a party, was irritating to the British public… Is he going to do the right thing now and resign? ”
