Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. won’t be back after a left knee injury
INGLEWOOD, Calif. – Los Angeles Rams receiver Odell Beckham Jr. injured his left knee while playing intermittently with 3 minutes, 50 seconds remaining in the second half of Super Bowl LVI on Sunday night against Cincinnati Bengals and did not return.
Beckham is running towards the right side of the field on a crosswalk, but it looks like his left foot is caught in the grass. He missed a pass thrown by the midfielder Matthew Stafford and grabbed his left leg as he fell onto the grass.
Beckham took off his helmet while on the ground and was immediately looked at by coaches on the pitch before being helped. He was glimpsed in the medical tent on the sidelines of the Rams before making his way into the locker room.
He is listed as a suspect and will return after the break. With less than five minutes left in the third round, the Rams officially lowered Beckham to relegation.
Beckham, who was signed to the Rams after being released by Cleveland Browns in the middle of the season, there were two receptions in 52 yards. He scored Los Angeles’ first touchdown when he beat Mike Hilton in the right corner of the end of the field for a score of 17 yards.
According to research by ESPN Stats & Information, Stafford was 2/6 behind for 25 yards and intercepted in the first half after Beckham was injured. He started 10/12 for 140 yards and made two touches, one for Beckham.
After a slow start to his Rams career, Beckham has moved into the post-season phase. In three NFC playoffs, he had 19 hits on 23 goals from 236 yards and one touchdown, at 31 yards. He’s just behind Cooper Kupp in receptions and yards.
Beckham tore his left ACL in 2020 while with the Browns. He is scheduled to become an unrestricted freelance agent next month.
The Rams were behind the Bengals 20-16 when Beckham’s official status was determined and announced.
