Are from our review:
The violence that ensues (and before) Amleth’s arrival in Iceland is bloody and graphic, and Eggers filmed Viking assaulting humble villages in dramaticly choreographed follow-up footage that glides through blood, mud, and filth. the gurgling death of dozens of women wearing sackcloths. The same dialogue mixes savagery with pomp: A character is entangled with a deadly curse that promises to smite his killer until “the flames of vengeance seep into your flesh.” . Another optimistically told a friend, “we’re going to be raging together on the battlefield of the undead.” Put all of this into the majestic Icelandic landscape and background the sounds of booming drums and deep chants roll like a thunderstorm, and the effect is appropriately awe-inspiring.

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore

Are from our review:
Newt’s difficult, complicated task to secure and deliver his precious goods lacked the delightful curiosity that first lent him Magical Creatures a much-needed bump in seduction. An innovatively choreographed set pits Newt and his brother Theseus (Callum Turner) against a species of crustacean leviathan in a panopticon-style prison tower, where the boys engage in a fight silly cornering, reminding viewers that the occasional funny play won’t hurt anyone. Also, Newt’s plot twist is as bland as its aesthetic: Series director David Yates conveys that this part of the story is set in the past by categorizing everything as gray or dry brown. It’s hard to imagine a kid in real life being dazzled by this movie and it’s sad to realize that the main audience here are probably IP loyalists too old for childish things, but still don’t want to leave this universe.
