Filmmaker held for post on Amit Shah, insulting Tricolour | India News
AHMEDABAD: Gujarat police arrest filmmaker Avinash Das in Mumbai on Tuesday for trying to tarnish the image of the Union Home Minister Amit Shah by tweeting a picture of him with Pooja Singhalone IAS officer was jailed for corruption in Jharkhand, and another for insulting the national flag.
He was taken to Ahmedabad for “further legal proceedings”, Ahmedabad’s ACP DP Chudasama crime police branch said. An FIR was sued May 14 against the Mumbai-based filmmaker, best known for his 2017 films ‘Anaarkali of Aarah’ and ‘Raat Baaki Hai’, released in 2021 – after he shared a photo showing Singhal, arrested by the ED in a money laundering case, whispering something to the Shah. In the caption, Das claimed that the photo was taken a few days before Singhal was arrested, even though it was actually clicked in 2017.
