Ballerina, ai welcome first babya boy named Jacksonwith husband Olu Evans in 2022, recently reflected on how motherhood has changed her. For Misty, becoming a parent led to a shift in focus.
“I think as an artist you invest a lot in yourself, which is what we have to do,” Misty shared in an exclusive January 14 interview with E! Music Center Live: The Jerry Moss Commemorative Concert. “But this baby made me realize there’s so much more to it and made me step back from myself and realize how much I can blame others.”
While the 40-year-old admits to having had some bad nights, including one where she “sleeped on the floor by the crib,” Misty isn’t afraid to navigate a new chapter.
“I love all the challenges,” she told E! News. “That’s what makes me able to be a part of an art form like ballet. I like a challenge. I never really thought about it in a negative way. It’s just been a beautiful journey. .”
