Aaron Rodgers, Packers not concerned with QB’s thumb injury
GREEN BAY, Wis. – That hit Green Bay Packers midfielder Aaron Rodgers played the last game of last Sunday’s loss New York Giants in London kept him out of practice on Wednesday but will not affect his status for Sunday’s game against New York Jets.
Pavers for giants Oshane Ximines fired Rodgers in a Hail Mary attempt. He hit Rodgers’ throwing arm and caused him to stagger. Rodgers can be seen flexing his right hand as he walks off the field.
Rodgers said Wednesday about the hit. “When the adrenaline wears off and gets on the bus, back to the airport, onto the plane, I know it’s ramped up a bit but it gets better every day.”
“He’s not going to practice today,” Packers coach Matt LaFleur said ahead of Wednesday’s training session. “But I don’t think we have much of a concern until game day.”
Rodgers said he spent most of his practice doing rehabilitation work on his thumb.
“I’ll try to get back there and train tomorrow and see how it feels and be fine on Sunday, I’m sure,” Rodgers said.
Jordan love in fact handled snaps about the starting quarter.
Rodgers scored a career 3-0 against the Jets but got off to a slow start. His QBR of 44.6 is the lowest in the first five games of a season it has been in his career.
“Well, I think I’m playing as well as I can. I hope that typical period comes at some point where we’re really hot. Hopefully it starts this week. But I think it was appropriate,” Rodgers said, when asked if he had played to his standards.
The Packers were looking to avoid their first 3-3 start since 2012 in a match between LaFleur and his brother, Mike (the Jets’ offensive coordinator), and a best friend of the team. he’s in Jets coach Robert Saleh.
