ABC’s hit comedy Abbott Elementary School will officially return in another season.

In addition to the announcement of season 2, ABC also shouted DonorsChoose.org, where people can share donations for public school classrooms in need across the country. (However, Ava prefers a $100 spa gift card for her personal use.)

When is part 2 out?
In time for the back-to-school season, Abbott Elementary School returns Wednesday, September 21, airing from 9:00-9:31 p.m. ET.

The full cast is expected to return, including Brunson as Janine, James as Principal Ava, Tyler James Williams as Gregory, Chris Perfetti as Jacob, Lisa Ann Walter as Melissa, Sheryl Lee Ralph as Barbara and William Stanford Davis as Mr Johnson.
What will part 2 be about?
While the specifics are yet to be finalized, the cast shared with ELLE.com their hopes for where the story might go next. (Perhaps they’ll avoid the hot air balloon this time.)
Brunson wants to take more field trips, literally and figuratively, outside the halls of Abbott Elementary School; Ralph wants Barbara to start a choir in the way of Sister Action 2; Walter wants the crew to go to a teaching conference, except “they can’t buy an expensive one, so it’s, like, Atlantic City.” Williams hopes for more romance between Gregory and Janine: “[Gregory’s] has to mature a lot before he’s ready for a relationship, period, let alone with Janine. However, we can see, from an outside perspective, if they do the job, they might really have something special. ”
How many seasons will there be?
For now, we can count on having at least two. But Brunson has plans for up to nine seasons.
“When I [first] thinking about Abbott, I thought about season one and then I thought about season nine,” she told ELLE.com. “Not that I’m saying it’s coming to season nine because it’s a long way off — I don’t even know if people want [the show] go to part nine — but I was like, Where do I want these characters to end up? And I think, if you know the end of the story, you can do everything in between to not get there too soon but keep building there. ”
