Acer Chromebook Spin 513, Chromebook 315, Chromebook 314 Launched at CES 2022: Price, Specifications
On Tuesday, Acer unveiled three new Chromebooks — Chromebook Spin 513, Chromebook 315, and Chromebook 314 — at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2022). Designed for work, education, and entertainment combined, the Chromebook Spin 513 is powered by the MediaTek Kompanio 1380 processor, while the Chromebook 315 and Chromebook 314 pack the latest Intel processors. The new Chromebook Spin 513 comes with a 13.5-inch display, and the Chromebook 315 has a larger 15.6-inch anti-glare full-HD display. Chromebook 314 has a 14-inch full-HD display. The three new Chrome OS laptops will support Android apps through the Google Play store.
Acer Chromebook Spin 513, Chromebook 315, Chromebook 314: Pricing and Availability
Acer Chromebook Spin 513 (CP513-2H) will be sold in North America in June with prices starting at $599.99 (about Rs. 44,600). It will be available in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa) in April with prices starting at EUR 649 (approximately Rs 54,600).
The Acer Chromebook 315 (CB315-4H/T) will be available for purchase in North America in January starting at $299.99 (about Rs 22,300). The device will cost EUR 399 (about Rs 33,600) at EMEA and will be available for purchase before March.
The Acer Chromebook 314 (CB314-3H/T) will go on sale in North America in June for $299.99 (about Rs 22,300). At EMEA, it will go on sale starting April for 369 EUR (about 31,100 Rs).
The price and availability of the new Acer Chromebook models in India have yet to be announced.
Specifications of Acer Chromebook Spin 513
The new Acer Chromebook Spin 513 (CP513-2H) comes with a 13.5-inch (2,256×1,504 pixels) display (Acer calls it the VertiView display) with a 3:2 aspect ratio. It has narrow bezels that have a bezel-less display. 0.3 inch size. Chromebook Spin 513 is powered by octa-core MediaTek Kompanio 1380 processor and reported offers up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
The Chromebook Spin 513 can switch between four different usage modes. The screen can be bent backwards to use as a tablet while traveling. Premium aluminum Chromebook meets military durability standards (MIL-STD 810H). It has a backlit keyboard, a USB Type-C port, and Wi-Fi 6 for connectivity.
Cherry equipped the Chromebook Spin 513 with a pair of upward facing speakers as well as a pair of microphones. It has support for DTS audio. The battery of the Acer Chromebook Spin 513 is said to last up to 10 hours.
Specifications of Acer Chromebook 315
The Acer Chromebook 315 (CB315-4H/T) has a 15.6-inch anti-glare full-HD display with an optional touchscreen. The keyboard has a numeric keypad, suitable for the emerging hybrid work culture. The Acer Chromebook 315 has an eco-friendly OceanGlass trackpad that the company claims is made entirely from plastic waste recycled into a glass-like material.
The device has an HDR webcam with a wide field of view with glare reduction technology. Acer has equipped the Chromebook 315 with a pair of built-in microphones and DTS audio. According to Acer, this laptop is equipped with the latest Intel processors. It is likely to include a dual-core Intel Celeron N4500, a quad-core Celeron N5100, or a Pentium Silver N600.
Chromebook 315 with Wi-Fi 6 and dual USB Type-C ports and is said to offer up to 10 hours of battery life.
Specifications of Acer Chromebook 314
The Acer Chromebook 314 (CB314-3H/T) is the logical choice in the lineup. The Chromebook 314’s specs are pretty much the same as the Chromebook 315. It features a 14-inch full-HD IPS touchscreen with anti-glare coating. It also has 0.32-inch side bezels. The Chromebook 314 also comes with an OceanGlass trackpad. Users can navigate Chrome OS via the optional multi-touch display or OceanGlass trackpad.
Chromebook 314 has two built-in microphones and a webcam with transient noise reduction (TNR) technology for better video quality in low light. Supporting DTS Audio technology, a USB Type-C port is also equipped on the laptop. The Chromebook 314’s battery is said to last up to 10 hours on a full charge.
