Addeybb backtracking rules on Australia trip
Addeybb (Ire) (Pivotal {GB}) will not be traveling to Australia for the Sydney Autumn Racing Festival next year after being treated for a blood clot in a leg bag.
Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum, 7, was recently hospitalized for two weeks at a horse hospital after a blood clot became infected. He has now returned to coach William Haggas’s Newmarket pitch and while expected to race next season, he will not be available for Sydney in March and April, where his targets are. It will include an attempt to hit the G1 Queen Elizabeth II S. second person G1 Ranvet S.-he finished second there last year ahead of G1 Melbourne Cup winner Verry Elleegant (NZ) (Zed {NZ}) , whom he defeated in both of his victories over Queen Elizabeth. Addeybb is also a domestic Group 1 winner, having won the G1 S championship.
“He came home from the hospital on Monday,” Haggas said. I think and hope he will be fine. He’s definitely made some improvements but that will scare him away [going to Australia]. He will not be able to leave the UK next February.
“His signs of infection have improved, we are not out of the woods yet, but I think we are making good progress. Those things can be very annoying. They may not be good and better he is better. I very much hope he will be fine for next season. He owes us absolutely nothing and we will not take any risks with him. This is a bad time from an Australian point of view, but from any other point of view it’s a good time to take a little step back. “
