After missing Papad at Kerala wedding, war broke out between the guests
Weddings are perhaps one of the most important occasions in a person’s life. Indian weddings are often characterized by hundreds of guests, a wide variety of ceremonies and grand wedding receptions. What do you do if there’s something at the party that you really like, but it’s out of stock? A similar situation occurred at a wedding in the Alappuzha district of Kerala. Believe it or not, the guests got into a scuffle after missing a papad requested by the groom’s friends. A video clip of the incident appeared on Twitter. Watch:
In the wonderful 100% literate state of Kerala, a hand-to-hand fight broke out at a wedding after the groom’s friends demanded papad paper during the engagement ceremony. This caused a verbal argument that ended in an ugly brawl. No wonder Mallus belo papad. pic.twitter.com/HgkEUYMwfy– Rakesh Krishnan Simha (@ByRakeshSimha) August 29, 2022

Twitter user Rakesh Simha shared the 39-second clip in which a scuffle can be seen happening. Wedding guests can be seen engaging in an ugly fight with their hands and feet. “A brawl broke out at a wedding after the groom’s friends asked for papad paper at the party. This caused an argument and ended up being an ugly brawl,” the user wrote on tweets.
According to reports, the quarrel started when some friends of the groom asked for more Pappadum at the Kerala wedding. Pappadum is a popular mealtime snack made by forming rice flour into thin pieces and frying it until it becomes crispy. However, the servers didn’t offer it to the guests and so the war began. According to On Manorama, two guests and the owner of the auditorium were injured due to the incident.
Twitter users have also shared their reactions to the brawl at the Kerala wedding. “There’s no point in denying someone more papads,” felt one Twitter user, while another wrote, “Thapps give papads at a Kerala wedding.” Take a look at some of the reactions here:

This isn’t the only weird wedding that’s been reported. In another similar wedding, a bride said she wanted her wedding attendees to pay for the meal. She said this would replace the wedding gifts – a decision that received mixed reviews online.
