Agnes Kacicki to lead Primary Wave’s Investments team as Head Of Corporate Development

Primary Wave Music has appointed Agnes Kacicki to its executive team.

Bringing over 13 years of capital market experience to the company, Kacicki joins Primary Wave as Head of Corporate Development.

In this new role, Kacicki will work closely with Primary Wave’s CEO & Founder, Larry Mestel, to lead efforts “around larger acquisitions”.

According to Primary Wave, those acquisitions won’t “only include legendary and iconic music publishing catalogs”, but also “music platforms as well”.

In addition, Kacicki will seek “significant” international partnerships to expand the company’s portfolio which already includes a partnership with India’s Times Music.

Primary Wave made a strategic investment in Times Music in April last year.

News of the investment in Times Music arrived six months after Primary Wave struck a $2 billion deal with financial giant Brookfield.

That deal included the acquisition of a minority stake in Primary Wave and Brookfield investing $1.7 billion into a new “permanent capital vehicle”.

Based in the company’s Los Angeles office, Primary Wave says that Kacicki will also align with Bill Cisneros, Primary Wave’s President of IP Investment Management, and Ramon Villa, Primary Wave’s Chief Operating Officer, to assist with investor relations.

Kacicki joins Primary Wave Music from RBC Capital Markets where she was a Director in the Investment Banking division. In this role, she was an adviser to Primary Wave on various deals.

She specialized in advisory and capital raising activities across entertainment, specifically for content production & distribution companies and across the music publishing and recorded music sector.

Her execution experience includes debt and equity financings, buy-side and sell-side mandates, and initial public offerings.
