amazon music said it had entered into a ‘collaboration’ with the innovative AI music company Endel for the second company to produce healthcare playlists using its AI technology.
Berlin-based AI audio wellness app founded by a group of developers and artists. It runs a cross-platform ecosystem of AI-powered apps that create personalized sounds to help people focus, relax, and sleep.
It uses personal input from the user’s movements, time of day, weather, heart rate, location, and other factors to create personalized sounds.
Almost four years ago, Endel cooperate with Warner Music Corporation to produce 20 albums, marking the first agreement signed with a major label on album production algorithms.
That deal saw Edel release the album on apple music, Spotify, Google Play and Deezer. On Spotify, Endel is over 167,000 monthly listeners.
Endel also collaborated with Popular music group‘s Republic releases Endel × James Blake’s Relax soundscape as an album. Endel says they used an AI approach, backed by science, to create the sound scenes with James Blake, Grimes, Miguel and many other artists.

Now, Endel is working with Amazon Music to create playlists for sleep using extensive research into the neuroscience of sleep. The playlist lasts about eight hours or until the listener wakes up. Amazon Music released it on Friday (February 17).

Endel Pacific, Endel’s patented AI engine that generates scientifically supported sleep tracks according to circadian rhythms, processed the source material for the first track on Science of sleep. Source material includes synths and chill vocals, processed by Endel Pacific to get listeners ready for sleep.
According to the company, Endel Pacific creates music that prepares the brain for sleep and then helps the listener fall asleep.

The partnership between Endel and Amazon Music follows Amazon’s investment in Endel’s parent company, Techstars Music’18, through the Alexa Fund. Its other backers include Avex Inc., Major Lazer’s Jillionaire, Plus 8 Equity Partners, Kima Ventures, Impulse Ventures and DJ La Fleur.
Techstars Music is supported by Warner Music Group, AVEX Group, sonyBill Silva Entertainment, Silva Artist Manager, Q Prime Manager, SymphonyRecoChoku and Exchange royalties.
Last year, Endel raised $15 million in a series B funding round led by Roku investor Waverley Capital and True Ventures, an investor in Fitbit, Peloton, Blue Bottle Coffee and Ring.
Data from Database shows that Endel has raised $21.2 million in private funding.
Endel’s app is available on iOS, Android, Mac, Amazon Alexa, Apple TVs, wearables. It is also available as an album release on streaming platforms.
The company claims that more than 2 million people interact with their content each month, generating more than 3 million hours of monthly listening time in total.
Endel’s app has received several awards including Apple Watch App of the Year 2020, Best Google Play App of 2021, and Best Health & Fitness App in the Product Hunt Gold Cat Awards 2022 .
The company has also partnered with Mercedes-Benz Group Research, All Nippon Airways, Nura, Oura and Sony, which have integrated Endel into their LinkBuds headphones.
Endel’s growing influence in the music industry comes as the use of AI in music production continues to gain traction. In 2020, BMG Production Music (BMGPM) has signed an agreement with France-based AI-based music-to-video platform, MatchTune, Built-in more than 15,000 tracks from BMGPM’s portfolio integrated into the AI platform.
