Anthony Joshua is going on a world tour in London, Beijing, Australia, USA and the Middle East
Via Barry Holbrook: Eddie Hearn says he wants to build a world tour for Anthony Joshua to fight in London, Beijing, Australia, the US and the Middle East.
Hearn feels that when Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) fights in those countries, he will fall in love with the sport all over again. Obviously, the timing of the world tour isn’t ideal, as Joshua has lost three of his last five fights.
The locations that Hearn is looking for Joshua to fight show that he will be fighting heavyweights like Demsey McKean, Zhilei Zhang and Dillian Whyte. Those are the ones Joshua is still capable of defeating.
Eddie Hearn said: “The worst thing now is that AJ goes and has a huge downtime. iFL TV. “Physically, he wants to fight. Mentally, he’s getting over the setback. He still has four or five weeks before he has to enter camp.
“I want to build a travel around the world. I want to see AJ fight in London, Beijing, Australia, Middle East and USA. It will be fun, and I feel he will fall in love with the sport again,” Hearn continued.
“He wants to stay active. The only person who wants to make the decision that he will fight in December is him. From my side, ‘If you feel that you’re ready, that’s a good idea. Every conversation, including yesterday, will take place in December.
“The crisis was good for him because it was so much out of the system. It’s too early to say what will happen in December. AJ makes a lot of money because he’s the biggest name in boxing.
“Regulators have made a lot of money out of Anthony Joshua. If you knew the sanction fees paid for that fight, you wouldn’t believe it. I’m not saying the regulators are wrong when it comes to collecting penalty fees.
“AJ doesn’t make money from holding belts. AJ makes money on the draw people want to see. These belts make me overpay for my opponents and hit matches that others won’t fight.
“He’s going to fight someone who’s at the top of the top 15. The fight I want that he wants is Dillian Whyte. It won’t be in December, but it’s a big fight in the stadium next year. Hearn said: “The first part was epic and the second part is going to be even better.
