Aqueduct Fall Meet Conclusion with Ortiz, Jr., Pletcher, Klaravich Titles
Jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr., Hall of Fame coach Todd Pletcher, and owner Seth Klarman’s Klaravich Stables ended the Aqueduct’s 15-day fall encounter with titles in their respective divisions on Sunday. Ortiz, Jr. won his eighth equestrian title at the Ozone Park track with a 76-21-7-12 record, 27.63% win rate, and over $1.44 million in earnings. His five fall bets include three on Saturday: GII Remsen S. with Mo Donegal (Uncle Mo), GII Demoiselle S. with Nest (Curlin), and GIII Go For Wand S. with Lady Rocket (Tale of the Cat). Jose Lezcano and Luis Saez are second in the drivers’ standings with 17 wins each.
Pletcher scored 13 meetups, with a total score of 52-13-8-7 and earnings of more than $1.55 million. His 25% win rate is also marked by five bets, including three on Saturday: GI Cigar Mile with Americanrevolution (structure), and Remsen and Demoiselle jointly won with Ortiz, Jr. This is Pletcher’s first fall Aqueduct title since 2018. Christophe Clement and Chad Brown share second place in the coach rankings with 11 wins each.
Klaravich Stables clinched the title of top owner in the fall meet for the second year in a row with a total of five wins and an overall record of 17-5-0-5. With an income of just $260,000, this is the fourth stables owner title on the NYRA track this season. Michael Dubb and Repole Stable are second with four wins each.
The 56-day winter meetup at the Aqueduct will begin on Thursday, December 9. First post on the eight-race card is 12:50 p.m. ET. The meeting will feature 46 races worth nearly $6 million and will end on Sunday, March 27.
