Arizona Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins expected to miss rest of regular season because of knee sprain
The Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins Expected to miss the rest of the regular season with a sprained knee, but the team hope to bring him back at some point after the season, federation sources told Adam Schefter and Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.
Hopkins is seeking a second opinion with Dr. Neal ElAttrache. It is not yet certain whether Hopkins will need surgery.
Hopkins was injured in the loss last Monday night Los Angeles Rams and had an MRI on Tuesday. With 1:13 left of the game, Hopkins crossed to try to catch a pass between two Rams defenders in the final area and both defenders crossed down on his feet.
He fell to his knees in pain and did not play for the rest of the game.
Hopkins missed the first three games of this season because of a hamstring injury.
He leads the Cardinals (10-3) with eight touchdown receptions this season, his second with the franchise, having acquired him in a blockbuster commercial with Houston Texas last year.
The five-time Pro Bowl selection also has 42 receptions and 572 pitches this season.
