This week, superyachts with a total value of about $3.8 billion have gathered in the azure waters of the tiny European principality for the 31st annual Monaco Yacht Show. And no There are no geopolitical worries that might tarnish the limelight.
“All the boats are here,” Johan Pizzardini, Monaco Yacht Show’s head of media and communications told CNN Travel on the eve of the event’s four-day finale. Some 118 superyachts are among the luxury vessels on display at the country’s port of Hercule.

This reflects a growing trend that has grown significantly during the pandemic, when a large number of new buyers choose to purchase a larger yacht rather than ascending from a smaller yacht.

Pizzardini has also noted a change in attitudes among potential superyacht buyers as a result of the global pandemic.
“We have seen a period of remediation in which potential customers have been hesitant to rent or buy a yacht for months or years, saying, ‘Okay,’ he said. Then, in these uncertain times, I need to enjoy life.”
Arthur Brouwer, managing director of Dutch shipyard Heesen, noted that “order books are already quite full” across the board despite factors of global uncertainty, due to “the post-Covid push.”
In fact, Boat International’s 2022 Global Order Book indicates that 1,024 superyachts are under construction or on order by 2022, up 24% year-on-year, where orders are up 10.5% for those 45 meters or more high.

Katherine is the fourth all-aluminum case from the Italian shipbuilder Tankoa.
