Australia accelerates airlift of military assistance for Ukraine
The Australian Department of Defense announced on Thursday that Australia’s airlift of military support to the Government of Ukraine is continuing.
According to a press release from the Department of Defense, the latest load of heavy weapons, including the M777 howitzer and the Australian-built Bushmaster protected maneuver vehicle, is being transported by one of the largest aircraft in the world. , AN-124 Condor of Ukraine.
The AN-124 cargo plane from Ukraine-based Antonov Airlines is commonly used by Australia and its partners to transport oversized or large military shipments.

This latest airlift follows the Australian Government’s announcement of the donation of 20 Bushmaster-protected mobile vehicles including two ambulance variants and six M777 howitzer vehicles with ammunition to support the Government. Ukraine deals with Russia’s unrelenting and illegal aggression.
The Australian-built Bushmaster Protected Mobility Vehicle is designed to safely move troops to the combat zone before disembarking for close combat. This vehicle is well suited to protect Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers and Ukrainian civilians against mines and improvised explosive devices, shrapnel from artillery and small arms fire.
