Kanye West, now known as Ye, shared a close and longstanding relationship with Balenciaga and creative director Demna Gvasalia. On Friday, however, French fashion label and its parent company, Kering, announced that they have officially severed ties with the rapper following a series of hateful comments, controversial comments and more recently the infamous ‘White Lives Matter t-shirt’ ‘ at Paris Fashion Week.
“Balenciaga There is no longer any relationship nor any plans for future projects involving this artist,” Kering is quoted as saying. Women’s Daily Wear (WWD). It doesn’t say anything more.
Notably, Kanye introduced Balenciaga’s SS23 collection at the recently concluded Paris Fashion Week, marks his catwalk debut.
