Bangalore becomes top city with hiring intent in Q2: Report

Driven by growth in IT, e-commerce, FMCG and other allied sectors, Bangalore emerged as the top city with highest rental intent in the second quarter, followed by Chennai and Mumbai, according to a report.
In the July-September quarter, according to TeamLease’s Employment Outlook Report, 95% of employers expressed an intention to hire more, compared with 91% in the fourth-June quarter.
From an all-India point of view, 61% of employers surveyed want to hire during this period, up 7 percentage points from the previous quarter.
In Bangalore, both manufacturing and services show positive intentions to hire, the report states.
In the manufacturing sector, the leading sectors are FMCG (48%), healthcare and pharmaceuticals (43%), manufacturing, engineering and infrastructure (38%), energy and energy ( 34%) and agriculture and agrochemicals (30% cents), it revealed.
From a service industry perspective, the leading industries include information technology (97%), e-commerce and allied startups (85%), educational services (70%), telecommunications (60%), retail (64%) and financial services (55%), it added.

The TeamLease Employment Outlook Report is a comprehensive recruitment outlook report that reflects the hiring sentiment of more than 865 employers across 14 cities and 23 sectors in India.
This report gives statistics on ‘Renting Intent’ for Q2, 2022-23 (July-September 2022) on the basis of a survey and analysis conducted during April and May 2022.
Meanwhile, the report revealed that Chennai was the second top city in terms of hiring intent in the second quarter of this financial year, with 87% of employers wanting to hire compared to 78% in the quarter from January to May. 4 to June.
Mumbai showed rental intent increased 7 percentage points to 83% in the second quarter from 76% in the previous quarter.
Of the 23 sectors considered, the majority showed active hiring intentions in Mumbai, the report said.
