My idea of complete happiness is a beach vacation. Give me a sunny day, a good book and a glass of iced tea, and I’m a happy girl. I have friends who love active rides, and want to see everything, but honestly, when I’m on vacation, I want to relax, and for me, it’s by the beach. I used to pack a giant suitcase crammed with fun, sexy outfits that I thought I would wear, and without fail, every time I ended up wearing the same four bikinis and visor together. All outfits change and holiday lookshonestly, it’s just a waste of space, and so a few years ago I set out to prove that I could prepare a weeklong beach vacation in just one continue. Now that I’ve had some experience doing that, I’ll share my tips and tricks.
I would say that this type of packing is usually only applicable to a beach vacation, where clothing is inherently compact. No coats or boots needed, and honestly, shoes at a minimum. I like to wear a pair of sneakers or two, generally a workout trainer and an everyday shoe, but if you can find a pair that fits both, all the better, and plus, you will bring a pair on the plane. Then it’s a water shoe, like a Birkenstock or flip flops, and one or two nicer pairs of sandals. I will wear a neutral flat and a block or wedge heel for nights out. I have no idea of a stiletto heel on cobblestone streets, or worse still, sand. If you want a light yet effective preparation for a beach vacation, keep reading to shop my picks!
