Beyoncé Appears To Remove Kelis Pattern From Renaissance Album
It seems like Beyoncé just said goodbye to my template Kelis‘”Milkshake” on her new clothes Renaissance album.
A few days after Kelis publicly named the singer and producer “Break My Soul” Pharrell Williams for allegedly not telling her a interpolation of her 2003 single will be used on “Energy”, the fifth track on Beyoncé’s new LP, Rolling Stone reports that the controversial pattern has been removed from some music streaming services.
According to the output, interpolation will no longer be heard if streamed on Apple Music and Tidal. However, like BuzzFeed note, video lyrics, okay originally uploaded to YouTube on July 28still includes samples.
As of August 2, composer’s credit for “Energy” listed on Beyoncé’s official website notes that the song “has the content of ‘Milkshake’ written by Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo and performed by Kelis. “It’s unclear if it was changed to reflect the updated version of the tune.
E! News has reached out to representatives for Beyoncé and her company for comment on the updated version and has not yet received a response.
