This may be the last time we see Kambosos inside the ring as he will likely retire if he is defeated by Haney again.
Look at it this way; The chance for Kambosos to win another world title after this fight is slim and zero, and it will be a huge shock for him to go back to fighting the little-known fighters he knows. had to face before he was lucky enough to win against previously unifying injured lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez in November 2021.
The payday for Kambosos may be significantly reduced after the second loss to Haney, and I can’t imagine he would be willing to fight for the money he used to get after making tons of dough in two fights with Devin.

“I was looking for him, George and Jim. The things he said before, I won’t support it. I wouldn’t stand for it if I was there, but I’m here with Devin now and we’ll talk to him again next Sunday,” Bill Haney told Fighthype about Devin Haney’s rematch with George Kambosos Jr.

“Give us faction B every day and call faction B ‘barrier-breaking’ because we are breaking barriers and giving opportunities to other fighters.
“Every time you see Devin, you see a boxer getting better and better. He’s not even in his prime yet, and he’s one of the top boxers in the world for me.
“We needed the opportunity to prove it. As soon as we handle this business with George Kambosos on October 16, anyone can get it. I want people to double down on everything you said.
“Never back down. Everyone said something. When we finished this business, you took action. They can all get it. The first one stepped up and raised his hand and wanted to get out and really let the world know that you can really beat Devin,” Bill said when asked who Haney is going to hit next after he’s beaten. Kambosos Jr.
“We don’t want anyone to just whisper it. We want you to say that to the world and stand on it, and we go out and perform. We go out and get you wrong, or you get us wrong.
“Don’t whisper it. Duplicate it down. We are about to tackle this business with George Kambosos, God willing, on October 16 at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia. We want to make the best battles happen. Loma, Shakur, no problem. It really doesn’t matter.
“Teofimo Lopez, Regis Prograis, anyone in or around his department. Devin could become the first boxer to hold an undisputed position in both weight classes. It’s also about continuing his legacy, continuing to grow and mature, and tackle more challenges.
