Boris Johnson’s Office Grovels to Queen for Wine-Guzzling Party Hours Before She Sat Alone at Philip’s Funeral

Speaking Friday, after Telegraph A spokesman for the Prime Minister said it was “deeply regrettable that this took place at a time of national mourning” and confirmed that Downing Street had contacted Buckingham Palace to apologize for what had happened.
After the apology, the leader of the opposition Labor Party, Sir Keir Starmer, reiterated calls for Johnson to step down. “An apology is not the only thing the prime minister should offer in the palace today,” he said in the statement. “Boris Johnson should do the right thing and resign.”
Earlier this week, Johnson was forced to apologize for attending a private drink party in the Downing Street garden in May 2020, when his government was still imposing its first coronavirus containment.
