Boxing council vote on social media: Top 10 pounds
Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez has maintained his spot at the top of Boxing Social for the British pound, but his advantage is cut by Oleksandr Usyk, who has risen four places to second since June.
The Mexican superstar was the number one choice for seven out of nine of us. In our previous poll in June, Usyk placed sixth, but his win over Anthony Joshua for the WBA Super, IBF and WBO heavyweight titles left him second ahead of seven judges. examined and led by the other two. Canelo – of course – recently united all four super-middle belts against Caleb Plant.
Naoya Inoue – our first ranked top in November 2020 – has dropped to fourth, behind Usyk and Terence Crawford, whose recent wins over highly-rated 147lbs rival Shawn Porter made a big splash with our dashboard. Undisputed 140lbs king Josh Taylor dropped one place to fifth due to Usyk’s rise.
Teofimo Lopez, previously ranked fifth, fell out of the top 10 entirely after his defeat to George Kambosos Jr. The Aussie made the top 10 list of the judges and is currently ranked 9th.
Juan Francisco Estrada was placed in the top 10 by eight of our nine judges and is currently sixth, followed by Errol Spence, Tyson Fury and the aforementioned Kambosos.
Fury is a newcomer to the top 10, alongside Kazuto Ioka, while Jermell Charlo and Vasiliy Lomachenko have lost their previous top 10 spots.

Each panelist ranked their Top 10 in order, with the first-placed fighter receiving ten points, the second nine points, the third eight points, etc. The fighters were then ranked according to their cumulative total points. Okay. If the scores are equal, the fighter with the highest individual rating from the judge is ranked higher. If the fighters are still equal then they are ranked equally. If there is a tie for the first place, the boxer with the most votes will be given priority. If the fighters are still equal then they are ranked equally.
