Breanna Stewart narrows down options with Storm, Liberty

ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne reported earlier this month that Stewart wants to see Storm, Liberty, Lynx Minnesota and The Washington Mystery. Stewart’s narrowing of his options was first reported by Winsidr.

Stewart, a two-time WNBA champion who was Storm’s No. 1 draft pick in 2016, is the most popular free agent. Now 28 years old, she was the MVP of the league in 2018 and is facing freelance agency in her prime years. She has averaged 20.3 points and 8.6 rebounds over the six seasons of her career WNBA, after missing the 2019 season because of an Achilles injury.
Liberty is arguably the biggest threat to pull Stewart out of Seattle, where she won championships in 2018 and 2020. Stewart hails from Syracuse, New York, and plays as a team at UConn, where she won. four NCAA titles.
There is also speculation that Stewart’s decision may be related to the Chicago guard’s decision Courtney Vanderlootif both want to play in the same team.
Stewart played alongside point guard Sue Bird during her WNBA career, but Bird retired after last season. Vandersloot is one of the league’s top points defenders, leading the WNBA in assists per game for six seasons, covering 2017 to 2021.
