Brittany Forces Break the Marks in NHRA’s Return to Virginia
DINWIDDIE, Va. – Top Fuel score leader, Brittany Force broke both ends of the record at Virginia Motorsports Park during Friday’s qualifying for the Virginia NHRA Nationals.
In the NHRA’s first event at the track in three years, the Force ran 3,710 seconds at 335.82 mph. She has 9 of the 10 fastest runs in Top Fuel history.
“It’s clear and [crew chief David] Grubnic set a goal and we achieved it,” Force said. We are very happy about that and [I’m] pretty excited to do it in Virginia. Since 2019, we’ve been here for the last time, so to be able to come here for the fans and do that and put on a show for them, that’s great. We just want to keep improving and see what we can do on race day. “
Matt Hagan leads in Funny Car and Angie Smith in Pro Stock Motorcycle.
Hagan, the lead in points, broke the track speed record with 3,914 at 335.82 in a Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. Smith set the record by passing 6,788 at 200.38 – the first 200 mph motorcycle in track history – on a Buell.
