Chinese electric vehicle specialist BYD is moving further into the premium car sector and its latest model appears to be a direct competitor to Porsche's flagship passenger cars.
It is called Denza Z9 GTand its design seems to be heavily inspired by Porsche Taycan Cross Turismowith disc brake body style.
According to documents submitted to the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the Z9 GT is equipped with three electric motors, develops up to 710kW.
The front motor produces 230kW of power and the two rear motors produce a total of another 480kW.
BYD Blade lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries of undisclosed size will power the electric motor.

Denza – 90% owned by BYD, the remaining 10% held by Mercedes-Benz – has not specified how much the Z9 GT will cost, but photos distributed by the brand show the upcoming electric vehicle test of the firm in Europe appeared to hint at a six-figure price tag.
A pre-production Denza Z9 GT was driven through Germany with Porsche Panamera and a Ferrari GTC4Lusso, both of which differ in that they run on gasoline.
It's not yet known if the Denza Z9 GT or any of the Chinese spin-off models will come to Australia.
