California Heatwave Bakes Death Valley, sets record for hottest day: Report

As one of the hottest places on Earth and the driest region in North America, Death Valley is known as a place of extremes. The greatest air temperature ever recorded was 134 degrees Fahrenheit (57 degrees Celsius) there in July 1913, making it the hottest spot on Earth, the outlet added.
Based on yahoo news, With a high of 127 degrees Fahrenheit on Thursday, the valley set a record for September. The new record has sparked a flurry of extreme weather cases around the world.
“I wish it were cooler. It’s been unusually hot this September,” said Abby Wines, a spokeswoman for Death Valley National Park. Reuters.
Experts say that although the period of extreme heat will continue, September’s record is not expected to be broken until Monday or Tuesday.
Climate scientist Daniel Swain shared a post on his Twitter account on Friday about the heatwave update. He shared data on the heat wave recorded so far and expected in the coming days of September.

“Sheatwave update: very hot temperatures continued inland today, albeit with a slight (& temporary) cooling closer to the coast. But don’t be fooled: the peak of this heatwave. has yet to arrive and has been slightly delayed: now slated for Sun – That’s right. September temperatures are still likely to hit a record,” Mr Swain wrote while sharing the post.
It is further predicted that parts of California will set new temperature records in the next few days, according to Yahoo News.
