Fighting in Jalisco, Mexico, Will Hurt Canelo according to Salvador, on his salary because he won’t earn as much as he can earn elsewhere. However, with net worth 180 million USD, according to Celebrity Net Worth, Canelo doesn’t need to worry about losing millions while fighting in Mexico. He has enough money to live through many lives.
The match between Canelo and Ryder, if made, will be shown on DAZN. It’s still early to tell if boxing fans will need to buy pay-per-view matches.
It’s safe to say that American boxing fans will fall in love with it if they were asked to pay extra to watch Canelo vs Ryder on a pay-per-view basis. On paper, this fight doesn’t seem right for Canelo.
Canelo will defend his undisputed super middleweight title against ‘Gorilla’ Ryder, 34 (32-5, 18 KOs), who was promoted by Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn.
Hearn was the one who urged Canelo to defend Ryder next as it would be an internal bout for him, and boxing fans will be excited to witness this one.
Americans won’t be excited about this fight because Ryder is a mystery, and those who know him consider him a weak puncher with a very low hand speed. Ryder is not considered to have the same level of talent as the level 168 elites of the three assassins: David Benavidez, Caleb Plant, and David Morrell.
Ryder will be helpful for Mexican star Canelo to secure a win and check out his newly repaired left wrist. He is a capable fighter.
Canelo needs to test his left shot against an opponent who can’t push him if things go awry during the match. If Canelo’s left wrist causes him problems during his match against Ryder, he can still win using his right hand.

Ryder had a stellar year in 2022, stopping tough Zach Parker in the fifth round last November to claim the 168 lb interim WBO belt. Earlier, Ryder upset former IBF/WBA middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs by splitting the 12th in February last year in London.
American fans would rather Canelo take on one of these fighters to get back on their feet than Ryder, who has too many losses on his record to be considered an interesting opponent:
