Canucks’ Hoglander ejected from game vs. Sharks for intent to injure
Vancouver Canucks forward Nils Hoglander was assessed a match penalty and ejected from the game against the San Jose Sharks for intent to injure forward Kevin Labanc.

The incident happened late in the second period as the two were battling for a puck along the boards. Hoglander appears to slew foot Labanc, who falls to the ice. Appearing injured, Labanc headed to the dressing room.
Hoglander was initially assessed a five-minute major and, upon video review, the call was upheld. This is Hoglander’s first match penalty in his career.
The 22-year-old has five goals and seven points in 16 appearances for the Canucks this season.
