Charge provider EV JET Charge expands Melbourne HQ
Melbourne-based home charging service provider for electric vehicles Fee JET Growing up.
The company is expanding its headquarters in Fisherman’s Bend, Melbourne, and in the process will employ 73 more people in “high-skill jobs in electronics, engineering and logistics”.
The $3.3 million headquarters expansion project is funded with both public cash in the form of the Victorian Government and private investment.
“Expanding our operations in Victoria means we can continue to grow and develop our products, making electric vehicle chargers for more people across Australia and New Zealand,” said Director JET Charge executive and founder, Tim Washington said.
Founded in 2014, JET Charge is the co-founder of ChargefoxAustralia’s largest public electric vehicle charging network, and the preferred company by brands such as Tesla, Porsche and Hyundai for wall charger installation and maintenance.
Chargefox has since being sold to Australian motor clubs (NRMA, RACV, RACQ, RAC, RAA and RACT) through their wholly owned Australian Motoring Services company.
If you have recently charged an electric vehicle, chances are you have interacted with software or hardware managed by JET Charge as the company provides and maintains its charging infrastructure for domestic use, commerce and government.
No stranger to government partnerships or funding; The Federal Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) invested $3.5 million in 2020 to fund the deployment of smart home charging hardware, including bidirectional chargers.
JET Charge currently offers a two-way charger known as a local Quasar, among other products from the firm.
