Check WhatsApp detection Ability to upload media as status update when sharing via chat
WhatsApp has been spotted working on the ability to let users upload photos or videos as Status updates when they are sending multimedia content to recipients in a chat. The change could be an extension to the option to edit media recipients before sending them in chats – an update that appears to be being tested earlier this month. WhatsApp is said to be working on an update for both Android and iOS devices. However, there is no specific timeline for when the changes will be available to end users.
As report via WhatsApp With the WABetaInfo tracking feature, WhatsApp appears to allow users to select different recipients, including Status, when they are sending a photo or video in a chat. This will allow users to easily create new Status updates of the media they are sharing with their contacts on an individual basis.
WABetaInfo shared a screenshot from WhatsApp for Android beta to suggest that changes are being made. It also mentioned that the same update will also be added to the future update of WhatsApp for iOS beta version.
Earlier this month, WhatsApp brought to beta version 2.21.24.11 of its Android app, suggesting the ability to edit recipients of Status updates before uploading a photo or video. This will help users limit their Status visibility to specific contacts.
WhatsApp was also recently discovered to be working on the ability to edit recipients before sharing media in the chat to allow the user to select or remove specific people from the contact list who will receive the selected photo or video. WhatsApp for Android beta version 2.21.25.19 reportedly carried references to that update, although the changes were not made available to beta testers.
Along with making it easier to edit recipients for media content, WhatsApp was seen last week working on new camera interface where the Flash shortcut has moved from the bottom left corner to the upper right corner of the screen. The interface will also include access to recent photos in place of Flash shortcuts.
