Chindit was purchased by Dr. Cyrus Poonawalla, will continue to train before pursuing a PhD in India
Three-time group winner Chindit (Ire) (Wootton Bassett {GB}) has been purchased by Dr Cyrus Poonawalla and will stay with trainer Richard Hannon for a campaign in Europe before moving on to stud work in India. The former athlete owned by Michael Pescod will stand at Poonawalla Stud Farm after his retirement. News first reported by racing track.
Winner G2 Champagne S. in second place, G3 Greenham S. in third and G2 Summer Mile S. in 2022, the 5-year-old has also twice been placed in G1 Lockinge S., where There is second-place effort in May.
“We are pleased to announce that Chindit, our outstanding, seven-time winner, has been acquired by Dr. Cyrus Poonawalla,” Hannon said on Twitter. “He will continue to train with us in the near future. The deal was brokered by blood agents Gaurav Rampal, Ross Doyle and Richard Venn.
