Churchill Downs release official art for the 2023 Derby
Churchill Downs Racetrack on Tuesday released the “Official Art of Kentucky Horse Racing” 2023 created this year by internationally renowned artist Romero Britto.
Britto’s work for the 149th Kentucky Horseracing presented by Woodford Reserve highlights his iconic approach to mixing bright colors with unique patterns. With glittering textured accents and pop graphic elements, the artwork features subtle details that bring the track scene to life, highlighting the energy and excitement of the Derby. in modern style.
“Kentucky Derby has such a rich history and we are delighted to be partnering with Romero Britto to celebrate our 149th run with artwork that brings a modern perspective to our long tradition, ” Casey C. Ramage, Vice President of Marketing and Marketing at Churchill Downs Partnerships, said. “Working with an icon like Britto is an exciting opportunity for us to connect with new fans around the globe through this engaging visual representation of the joy and excitement of the Derby experience. .”
Britto will also be attending this year’s event to watch the race and take part in various Derby week specials, including being a judge for the Longines Kentucky Oaks Fashion Contest. Britto’s work will be featured on the official Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks racing shows in 2023 and a variety of merchandise, and 1,000 limited edition prints will be available for purchase starting June 6. December 2022, at www.KentuckyDerbyStore.com. All other items will be available for purchase starting at the end of February.
