Talk about a good activity. The Pontiac Grand Prix, introduced for the 1962 model year, remained in continuous production until 2008. During that time, its mission changed a few times. The Grand Prix started out as a premium coupe, and was at one time the most expensive Pontiac ever offered. The high-end versions of the Bonneville and Firebird Trans Am will eventually win the title of most expensive Pontiac.
As a complex entity, a Grand Prix is usually a private luxury car, sometimes a full-size car, often a midsize car, and sometimes – arguably – a luxury car. luxury cars. The GP was also a coupe, convertible and later a sedan.
The Grand Prix is also very popular most of the time, increasing big sales during the heyday of luxury personal cars in the mid-seventies. If you’re a kid of the ’70s and ’80s like me, you’ll recall that great fathers and uncles drove a Grand Prix, unless they were better off, they drove a Chrysler Cordoba.
Collected here is a series of Grand Prix print ads that cover the entire Pontiac run. If you’ve ever been behind the wheel of a Grand Prix, tell us about it. Where to leave comments below.
