Comic Vir Das ” I Come From 2 Indias ‘ Video Prompts Case by BJP Leader Aditya Jha

Vir Das’ comic “I’m from two Indias” video, which sparked intense controversy on social media, prompted a BJP leader to complain to the police. Aditya Jha, a spokesman for the BJP in Delhi, has filed a complaint with the Delhi Police accusing Vir Das of disrespecting the country on foreign soil.
Mr Jha tweeted a video saying he “will not tolerate anyone insulting our nation in another country” and will fight to arrest Vir Das.
“I will bring this war to a decisive end. I want Vir Das arrested so that no one can spoil the country like this,” Mr. Jha said, calling on people to support his cause.
Vir Das on Monday posted a video shot at his performance at the Kennedy Center in Washington. In a six-minute monologue, he describes the two contrasting faces of the country and addresses many of the most controversial recent topics in broad strokes.
“I come from an India that has the largest working population under the age of 30 on the planet but still listens to 75-year-old leaders with 150-year-old ideas,” he said in the viral monologue.
Many people shared his lines on Twitter. Vir Das was equally trolled.

As the video raked in tens of thousands of views, a short clip posted on Twitter sparked outrage: “I’m from India where we worship women by day and rape them by night. “.
The 42-year-old popular comic book author made it clear last night that he never intended to offend the nation, that his work was a satire.
“The video is a satire about the duality of two very separate Indians who do different things. Like any country there is light and darkness, good and evil within it. No any of this is a secret. The video urges us to never forget that we are great. Never stop focusing on what makes us great. It ends with a patriotic round of applause. giant for a country we all love, believe in and are proud of. That our country is more than titles, a beauty. That’s the point of the video and the reason for it. applause,” Vir Das said in his statement.

He urged people to “cheer for the country with hope not hate” and asked his followers not to be fooled by the edited clips.
“Please don’t be fooled by edited excerpts. People cheer for India with hope, not hate. People clap for India with respect, not malice. I’m proud of myself. I’m proud of my country and I carry that pride around the world,” he said.
Parliament leader Kapil Sibal took to Twitter in support.
