Hyundai takes its popular midsize crossover in an entirely new design direction.
Hyundai recently released some teaser images of the next-generation Santa Fe. The Korean automaker will take its popular midsize SUV in a whole new direction, with an emphasis on interior space.

The upcoming fourth-generation Santa Fe has debuted for the 2019 model year as the brand’s two-row, five-passenger midsize offering designed for rival models like the Chevrolet Blazer, Ford Edge, Honda Passport and Nissan Murano. The combination of style, space, features and pleasant driving is enough to earn the Santa Fe several Consumer Guide® Best Buy titles.
Instead of repeating the current formula, the upcoming fifth-generation Santa Fe will have a much more aggressive and aggressive look. Some experts have compared with Land Rover Defender and such assessment is not entirely wrong. The new design is more square and upright than any previous Santa Fe. The long rear overhang is reminiscent of old-fashioned body-on-frame SUVs.

The second and third rows of seats can be fully folded flat, and although exact specifications aren’t available as of this writing, Hyundai claims “best in class space”. The aforementioned seat backrests, along with the ceiling, floor mats and door panels are all made from sustainable materials. Behind the wheel, the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is suitably high-tech, and it connects to a curved panoramic infotainment screen.
Full information about the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe, including specs and powertrains, will be revealed in August. Expect the regular petrol, petrol/electric and plug-in hybrid models to return. Prices will likely start as low as $30,000 for the former, with loaded plug-in hybrids approaching and possibly exceeding $50,000.

The Santa Fe’s new design direction is reminiscent of when Hyundai launched the sixth-generation Sonata in 2011. Critics praised the car’s look, and consumers responded by buying it in batches. We wouldn’t be surprised to see the Santa Fe 2024 achieve similar success.
