Confidence votes on the start of UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s leadership
London:
Conservative MPs have begun voting in a vote of no confidence in Prime Minister Boris Johnson, a vote that could end with his immediate removal as party leader and signal the end the end of his reign.
Johnson, fighting for his political survival in the wake of the “Partygate” scandal, asked a majority of 359 Tory MPs to back him to keep him in office, with results expected about an hour after Voting ends at 8pm (1900 GMT).
