Via Ken Hissner: At Echo Arena, Liverpool, Merseyside, UK, on Saturday against DAZN (ZONE), Eddie Hearn (Matchroom Boxing), in the Main Event undefeated WBA Continental Welterweight Champion Conor “The Destroyer” Benn took out Benn defeated former WBO Welterweight lightweight champion Chris Algeri in four rounds.
In the co-occurring event, undefeated WBO, WBA, WBC and IBF world lightweight champion Katie Taylor defeated former WIBA lightweight champion Firuza Sharipova in ten rounds.
In the main event, WBA Continental Welterweight champion Conor “The Destroyer” Benn, 20-0 (13), #146, of Ilford, Essex, UK, knocked out former WBO Welterweight Lightweight Champion Chris Algeri, 25- 4 (9), #146, in Huntington, NY, at 2:58 of the fourth inning of 10.
In the first round, it was all Benn. In the second round, a left hook from Benn to the neck sent Algeri across the ring and down at 8 counts. In the third inning, Benn continued out, landing Algeri. In the fourth inning, a jab followed by a right to the chin from Benn and landed Algeri by referee Bob Williams.
In the WBA, WBO, WBC and IBF Gay Title Match World Women’s Lightweight Champion and Katie Taylor, Olympian gold medalist, 20-0 (6), #134.11, of Bray, Ireland, beat the former WIBA lightweight champion Firuza Sharipova, 14-2 (8), #143.4, of Taraz, KAZ, over ten action-packed rounds.

In the first round, it was close, with Sharpova having the upper hand. In the second inning, Taylor’s left hooks overcame Sharpova’s efficient slit to get the round. In the third round, it could go both ways with Sharpova’s stab and Taylors left hook. In the fourth round, Taylor threw the combo, with one ball being blocked to the other land.
Sharpova’s shot continued to score with it being a Taylor inning.
In the fifth round, Sharpova received a cut on her right eyebrow, possibly due to a head bump. She was cautioned for holding out by referee John Latham, who was slowly separating them. It was another round for Taylor. In the sixth inning, Taylor had a close quarter, with referee Latham taking a point from Sharpova to hold. In the seventh inning, the action continued, with Taylor landing more in the close.
In the eighth round, Taylor scored harder punches but could have gone both ways. There are too many people trapped in the war caused by Sharpova. In the ninth inning, the action continued with Taylor making a combined landing on Sharpova’s chin at the bell. In the tenth and final round, Sharpova unleashed a combination of throws. With 30 seconds remaining, a left hook from Taylor to the chin stunned Sharpova. Works great without clinches.

Superlightweight Robbie Davies, Jr., 22-3 (15), #139.2, of Kirkby, Liverpool, UK, kills Hank Lundy, 31-10-1 (14), #141.4, of Philadelphia, PA, at 1:23 of the second round for the WBA Continental title was vacated.
In the final seconds of the first round, a punch from Davies sent Lundy lying across the ring, legs shaking, trying to hold onto the bell. In the second half, Davies steered Lundy onto the canvas with a chin strike and halfway out of the ring, prompting referee Marcus McDonnell to give chase. Lundy made the way from the locker room to the ring before the game and paid the price!
Featherweight superweight Joe Cordina, 14-0 (8), #129.15, of Cardiff, Wales, UK, beat Miko Khatchatryan, 13-1 (7), #129.12, of Liege, Belgium, over ten rounds .
The score is 100-90 and 98-92 twice.
Middleweight Capimhin Agyarko, 10-0 (7), #159.5, of Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK, blocks Noe Larios, Jr., 14-1 (6), #160, of Ramona, CA, at 2: 08 in the 9th half match of 10 points, for the vacant WBA international title.
Men’s featherweight middleweight Peter McGrail, 2-0 (1), #123¼, of Liverpool, UK, stop Engel Gomez, 8-4-1(4), #128, of Chinandega, NIC, at 2 :18 laps.
In the second half, McGrail cut his left eye and scored with a header from the left.
