Coruscant is a playable planet in Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, but it may not be open world
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor director Stig Asmussen has revealed Coruscant is one of the planets appearing in the sequel, although it may not be a fully explorable open-world region.
Share the news at the Star Wars Celebration, it wasn’t long before he released the final gameplay trailer for Jedi: SurvivorAsmussen confirmed Coruscant was in the game.
“We are taking it one step further in our Metroidvania approach and just talking about another planet we will also have Coruscant,” he said. “I think there’s been a lot of speculation about that, and [I’m] just confirm it here.”
Although Asmussen talked about Coruscant in a conversation about larger exploration areas included in Jedi: SurvivorEA’s Star Wars communications lead Andy McNamara seems to have lowered expectations a bit Twitter.
“Clearly, Stig never claimed Coruscant to be a ‘freely explorable open world’ [as one Twitter account claimed]. He just confirmed it as one of the destinations in the game,” McNamara said. “Survivor has amazing planets to explore and our biggest environment to date, but wanted to clarify what went wrong. speak.”
Therefore, it is not clear how much Coruscant will appear in Jedi: Survivor. It could be an open world or area like the other locations, or it could just be introduced as part of a specific story quest, like the final area of Jedi: Fallen Order.
Fans don’t have too much time until they find out when the game launches on April 28 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. Its latest trailer shows battles against the Stormtroopers, the Droid Terminator from the prequel trilogy, and even Rancor, and the developer Respawn Entertainment promises more action-appropriate stories.
In our preview of the game“Our main takeaway after about five hours with the upcoming sequel, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, is how it feels,” IGN said. [we were] systematically eliminated the problems I had with Fallen Order.”
