Cosplay Breath of the Wild Guardian is blowing everyone away
People have cosplayed as Link and Zelda (and Ganon as well) since the series first came out, but those guys (relatively) easily. They walk on two legs, they get dressed, you put on makeup, get weapons, boom, you’re cosplaying as a Nintendo character. But what about Breath of the Wild Guardians, giant stone warriors that shoot lasers out of their faces, surely a human couldn’t realistically dress up as one of those?
Of course they can. It just takes intelligence, hard work and some very simple trading tricks. This is Allison Chase, someone who specializes in large, complex cosplaywent public on Orlando’s MegaCon earlier this year as one of the Ruined Guardians:
The size, the detail, the glow, the way it plays the music and sound effects, the way the eyeballs light up and change as if it were actually exploding a laser beam through the conference floor…. it was perfection. perfect. Now, though you might be thinking, like I was initially, is this cosplay? Isn’t that just a robot, or a statue? No, it’s still cosplay. Chase is sitting inside the Guardian on a stool:
And being able to move and control the Guardian in the same way that Kenny Baker was able to move R2-D2’s head while trapped insideby rotating different sections while sitting:
To give you another idea of how big this thing is and how it all comes together, check out this video of the Guardian being transported to the conference, a process that involves disassembling the whole thing, move it on a truck with some guy then put it all together again:
You can check out more of Allison’s incredible cosplay including Power Loader from Alienan entire Catbus from Totoro and Snowball match very well Rick & Morty, at her TikTok page.
