The Ludhiana market saw cotton yarn prices fall, with a decrease of ₹2/kg. However, demand from the downstream sector has remained consistent, albeit in limited quantities. The North Indian cotton yarn market shows different trends. Prices fell ₹2/kg in Ludhiana but remained stable in Delhi. Trading activity increased slightly due to the approaching festive season and the end of the cotton marketing season. Delhi market predicts better demand in the coming weeks and higher MSP is expected to boost cotton prices in the coming season.
30-count cotton combed yarn sold for ₹258-268/kg (GST included); Combed yarn 20 and 25 counts were traded at Rs 248-253/kg and Rs 253-258/kg, respectively; and 30-count carded yarn were recorded at Rs 238-248/kg in Ludhiana, according to Fiber2Fashion’s TexPro Market Insights Tool.
The Delhi market also maintained cotton yarn prices steady, although traders were optimistic about better demand in the coming weeks. Panipat’s recycled yarn market also saw moderate buying activity, and as a result, recycled yarn prices remained at previous levels. The market is still waiting for increased buying from the downstream industry. The domestic peak season usually begins in the second half of the year and traders are optimistic that upcoming festivals will boost market sentiment. The cotton brush is also trading at the previous price.

Cotton prices in North India are slightly higher due to increased demand from spinners. Natural fibers are traded at ₹5,825-5.925 per maund (37.2 kg) in Punjab, ₹5,600-5,700 per maund in Haryana and ₹5,925-6,050 per maund in upper Rajasthan. In lower Rajasthan, natural fiber is sold for Rs 54,500-56,000 per candy (356 kg).
