Crawford Reacts to Jermell Charlo & Errol Spence Freeze Him
Via Sam Volz: Terence Crawford criticized Jermell Charlo on social media on Friday in response to being frozen by him. Terence is letting Jermell know that Errol Spence Jr is ordering him to stop the fight.
Crawford (39-0, 30 KOs) wants to fight undisputed middleweight champion Jermell (35-1-1, 19 KOs), but that’s not going to happen, according to Errol Spence Jr, who spoke. if he can’t get a fight against him, he won’t get Charlo.
Crawford damaged his credibility recently by abandoning negotiations with Spence so he could fight little-known David Avanesyan on BLK Prime on December 10.
It was a weak move by Crawford to abandon negotiations with Spence to counter Avanesyan. It makes Crawford look intimidating and unreliable because he negotiated with Avanesyan without telling Spence.
Errol has said he won’t fight Crawford next. He didn’t give a reason why he won’t fight Crawford next, but it could be due to his recent car accident, which left him with some bumps and bruises.
Alternatively, Spence might not be willing to put himself in a position to let Crawford walk out of their negotiations a second time, making him look silly for wasting his time.
awww @TwinCharlo I understand why you wear such heavy Pom-poms @ErrolSpenceJr is the father. So it makes sense from now on you should just say that mane. My bad EJ for talking to your son like that, keep it to you. I’ll take you to fry fish after I fillet you. pic.twitter.com/i8UcATg7Dj

It’s likely that Crawford will have to fight Spence before he has a chance against Jermall as he won’t be able to move on to the next division without proving himself against Spence in 147 first.
Crawford said earlier this week that he was ready to “pivot” to restarting talks with Spence once he had ended his fight with Avanesyan.
However, Spence probably won’t fight Crawford next because of the car crash and the way he did to him by disappearing during their negotiations.
Spence will likely have an easy fight against one of the next 147th place contenders before he looks to restart talks with Crawford if he remains fighting at welterweight.
Crawford needs to stay busy while he waits for Spence. Here are some good picks for Crawford to fight next:
- Jaron ‘Shoes’ Ennis
- Keith Thurman
- Vergil Ortiz Jr.
- Yordenis Ugas
Crawford has a lot of proof that he needs to do with boxing fans to show that he has the ability to persist in negotiations without disappearing.
